A foot ulcer that will not close is exhausting — months of dressings, appointments and careful walking, with slow progress. Trial Path is recruiting adults with diabetes whose foot ulcer has lasted more than four weeks for a clinical study running up to 12 weeks, plus one confirmation visit.
The questionnaire below is a first look only. It takes a few minutes, you will get a reference code when you finish, and a study coordinator reads every answer. Several of the questions use terms your clinic may not have discussed with you — “Not sure” is a perfectly good answer, and we check those details at the screening visit.
Who the study is for
- You are 18 or over
- You have diabetes, with an HbA1c below 12% in the past 3 months
- You have a full-thickness foot ulcer, Wagner Grade 1 or 2
- You have had the ulcer for more than 4 weeks and less than a year
- The ulcer is below the ankle bone — on the sole, the side of the foot, or a toe
- You have no more than 3 ulcers, at least 3 cm apart
- The ulcer is roughly 1–20 cm² in area
- No skin graft, skin substitute, growth-factor product or experimental treatment for it in the past 30 days
- No radiation, chemotherapy, long-term steroids or immune-suppressing medicines in the past 30 days
- You can wear an off-loading device and attend visits for up to 12 weeks, plus one confirmation visit
There are further criteria the study team checks at the screening visit, and meeting everything above does not guarantee a place. Nothing here is medical advice, and taking part always needs written informed consent given beforehand.
